Two private schools sit in the Bronx, New York. Both publish a matriculation list. A matriculation list is where a school says its graduates enrolled. Here are the two lists, side by side.
The lists cover different class years. Horace Mann's list is labeled "Class of 2024 - 2026 Graduates." It covers three class years. Riverdale's list is labeled "Higher Ed Enrollment 2021-2026." It covers six. The windows differ. So the figure to read side by side is the count per class year. Per class year means the school's printed count divided by the class years its list covers.
Horace Mann's list names 20 colleges with counts and covers 341 students. Riverdale's list names 63 colleges with counts and covers 736 students. Nineteen colleges appear on both lists.
Horace Mann's list names the University of Chicago more than any other college. It names Chicago 64 times, which is 21.3 per class year. That figure is first of 183 schools whose lists name Chicago. Riverdale's list names Chicago 17 times, or 2.8 per class year.
Cornell University sits near the top of both lists. Riverdale's list names Cornell more than any other college: 52 graduates, or 8.7 per class year. Horace Mann's list names Cornell 45 times, or 15.0 per class year. The printed totals and the per-class-year figures point in different directions. That is the window at work. Riverdale printed six class years, Horace Mann three. On the Cornell page, Horace Mann is third and Riverdale is sixth. That page holds 228 schools whose lists name Cornell.
Ivy-plus here means twelve colleges. The twelve include Harvard University, Yale University and Stanford University. Horace Mann's list names those twelve 208 times. That is 69.3 per class year. Riverdale's list names them 288 times, or 48.0 per class year.

Horace Mann's five largest, per class year: University of Chicago 21.3, Cornell University 15.0, University of Pennsylvania 7.7, New York University 7.3, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) 6.3.
Riverdale's five largest, per class year: Cornell University 8.7, University of Pennsylvania 8.3, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) 6.8, Duke University 5.7, Brown University 5.3.
Every figure here comes from each school's own published list, with counts as printed and class years as the school states them. Enrolled lists and admitted lists are different documents, and they are never mixed. A school that is not in this data did not publish a numbered matriculation list we could read. That is all absence means. It is never a statement about a school's graduates.
