Terms of Service

Last updated: June 17, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using highschoolreach.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Who we are

The Service is published by Test Prep Gurus, LLC ("we", "us"). We are an independent California consulting firm. We are not affiliated with the University of California, the California Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Education, the IRS, or any school or district we report on.

3. Permitted use

You may:

  • Browse the site for personal, educational, or professional research purposes.
  • Share specific page URLs (e.g., a school profile or ranking) with attribution to "Reach — by Test Prep Gurus" linked back to highschoolreach.com.
  • Cite individual data points in articles, posts, or presentations, with the same attribution.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or download the site in bulk for the purpose of reproducing it on another platform.
  • Use our methodology, peer-similarity logic, or composite formulas to power a competing product without a license.
  • Use our content in a way that defames, disparages, or otherwise harms any school, student, employee, or third party.

4. Data accuracy + no advice

All data on the Service is provided "as is" and for informational purposes only. We work hard to verify our sources, but we make no guarantees about accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Nothing on this site should be construed as legal, financial, educational, or admissions advice.

Specifically:

  • School-level admit rates and outcomes are not predictors of any individual student's UC admissions chances. UC admissions decisions use comprehensive review that weighs essays, course rigor, demographics, context-of-opportunity, and other factors beyond GPA.
  • Enrollment trends and revenue-at-risk projections are statistical extrapolations from historical data — not forecasts you should rely on for budgeting decisions without independent analysis.
  • Private-school financials reflect publicly filed IRS Form 990 data, which can lag by 1–3 years and may be subject to revision.

5. Lead submissions + consulting

If you submit your email or request an audit, you understand that:

  • We may contact you about our consulting services.
  • An "Enrollment Trend Audit" is a paid consulting engagement; submitting the audit form is a request, not a commitment by either party.
  • Any consulting engagement will be governed by a separate written agreement.

6. Affiliate links & third-party sites

Some pages on the Service contain affiliate links and, on occasion, sponsored content. When you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, we may receive a commission from the merchant at no extra cost to you. We disclose these relationships clearly where they appear, consistent with the Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines.

Affiliate and sponsorship arrangements do not influence our rankings, ratings, admit-odds models, or editorial analysis. Sponsored content is always labeled as such.

Affiliate and other outbound links lead to websites operated by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, pricing, availability, or privacy practices of those sites, and a link does not constitute an endorsement of everything found there. Any transaction you enter into with a third party is solely between you and that third party.

7. Subscriptions, billing & automatic renewal (Family Plus)

Family Plus is our optional paid subscription. The terms below apply only if you choose to subscribe; the rest of the Service remains available without a subscription. By starting a Family Plus subscription, you agree to this section, which is offered in addition to (not in place of) the rest of these Terms.

Automatic renewal — please read. Family Plus is an automatically renewing subscription. Your subscription will continue and automatically renew at the then-current price, and your payment method will be charged on a recurring basis, until you cancel. The billing frequency (monthly or annual), the price, and the renewal date are the ones shown to you on the checkout screen and confirmed in your purchase email. You may cancel at any time as described below.

What you're agreeing to at checkout

Before you enter payment information, the checkout screen will clearly and conspicuously show the material terms of your subscription, including:

  • the subscription plan and what it includes;
  • the price and the billing frequency (for example, charged monthly or charged annually), as shown at checkout;
  • that the subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel;
  • the renewal price (which is the then-current price for your plan) and the date the next charge will occur;
  • any introductory, promotional, free-trial, or discounted price, when it ends, and the standard price that applies afterward; and
  • how to cancel.

You provide your express, informed consent to these automatic-renewal terms by affirmatively agreeing to them at checkout (for example, by checking the auto-renewal consent box and completing your purchase). We do not pre-check that box for you, and your subscription does not begin until you take that affirmative step. After you subscribe, we will send an acknowledgement (by email) that restates the automatic-renewal terms, the amount and frequency of charges, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel, and that includes a link to cancel or manage your subscription.

Billing

  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
  • By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method the subscription price (plus any applicable taxes) on each renewal, automatically, at the start of each billing period, until you cancel.
  • If a charge fails, we may retry it and may suspend or downgrade your Family Plus access until payment succeeds.
  • You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

How to cancel

You can cancel Family Plus at any time, and canceling is easy — at least as easy as it was to subscribe. You may cancel by either:

  • using the “Cancel subscription” control in your account / billing settings on highschoolreach.com (the same online method you used to sign up); or
  • emailing hello@prepgurus.com from the address on your account and asking us to cancel.

When you cancel, your subscription will not renew again, and you will keep Family Plus access through the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We will not require you to call us, sit through a retention offer, or complete extra steps in order to cancel.

Cancellation reminders

For each automatically renewing subscription, we will send you a periodic reminder, at least once a year, that identifies the subscription, states the amount and frequency of the charge, and explains how to cancel. If your plan has an initial term of one year or longer, we will also send you a renewal notice before it renews — generally at least 15 and no more than 45 days before the renewal date — describing the renewal term, the amount or range of the charge, the frequency of charges, and how to cancel.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices and the features included in a plan. If we increase the price that will apply to your renewals, or make a material change to the automatic-renewal terms, we will notify you in advance (by email) with the new price and the date it takes effect, and tell you how to cancel before the change applies. If you don't cancel before the change takes effect, the new price applies to your next renewal. Price changes never apply retroactively to a billing period you've already paid for.

Refunds

Except where a refund is required by law, Family Plus payments are non-refundable, and canceling stops future charges rather than refunding the current period. We may, at our discretion, grant a refund or credit (for example, for an accidental duplicate charge or a clear billing error). California subscribers and other consumers retain any non-waivable cancellation and refund rights provided by applicable law, including under California's Automatic Renewal Law; nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

Who may purchase

You must be at least 18 years old and the authorized holder of (or authorized to use) the payment method to purchase a subscription. Family Plus is intended to be purchased and managed by a parent or guardian.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Test Prep Gurus, LLC, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or your reliance on any data presented here.

9. Intellectual property

The arrangement, design, copy, and original analytic methods on this Service are © Test Prep Gurus, LLC. The underlying data (UCOP, CDE, IPEDS, IRS, etc.) is public-domain or used under each source's terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
