What AI tells parents about your school
Parents now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude about schools. They ask about a school by name. They ask about a whole region.
What we looked at
In October 2026 we asked four AI assistants 225 of those questions about 50 independent schools.
What we found
- A school's own website is usually cited. But it rarely leads the answer to "how hard is it to get in" or "is it a good school."
- On "best private high schools in" a region, the schools' own sites are mostly absent.
- Reach is already one of the sources AI uses for many schools.
Reach is one of the sources AI uses for Harker, Windward, Cate, Marlborough, Crossroads, Nueva, Branson, Sage Hill, Menlo, Castilleja, Crystal Springs Uplands, Head-Royce, College Preparatory School and Lick-Wilmerding.
Reach was cited in 71 of 200 Perplexity answers and 26 of 50 ChatGPT answers about the schools in the study.
What we can send you
Ask for a short report on your school. It shows what AI says about you, which sources it draws on, and where Reach already speaks for you. The first report is free, and any public or private high school can ask for one.
We can also improve what AI says about your school.
