The date

. The lists and the badges go live that morning. Until then, the current lists and badges stay as they are.

What a school gets that morning

  • Its badges page, with copy-ready code. The "Your badges" link on your school's Reach page opens every claim the page prints, each with its data year, as an image link to paste or a PNG to download.
  • The announcement sentence. One line per badge, worded for a newsletter or a post, with the figure exactly as the page prints it.
  • This page's press release template. Fill in the brackets below from your badges page.

What local press and local sites get

The county lists, reissued for the year, and the free embed: a live frame or plain HTML of the top high schools in a county for UC admissions, with the data year and a link back. Everything is on the embed hub.

Press release template

Every figure in a release is copied from your school's badges page and never edited. The claim and the announcement sentence under your badge say what the badge measures, so copy them exactly as printed. Replace each [bracketed] item; leave the rest as it is.

The rules

  1. Free, for every school that earns one. No fee, no tier, nothing to buy.
  2. Only claims your page already prints. County and statewide rank, and feeder standing from your own published counts. Never an interpretation.
  3. The data year is on the badge and in its code. A new edition carries the new year.
  4. A plain image link, unchanged. Resize it if you like; do not edit the text or remove the link.
  5. Nothing a school buys changes a badge, and no badge changes a rank. Our editorial standards keep sponsorship out of rankings; the same rule covers anything a school buys from us.

Put a county list on a local site: the embed hub. How we keep the lists independent: editorial standards.
